The solar system became my inspiration for my final piece. I have concentrated on the area of circles.
This quickly evolved into planets. The colours and textures from the photographs have helped me decide on my surface technique of 'foiling'. I have tried to be ethical by using fabrics that were not wanted by family members instead of being thrown away, so my ethical statement is to up-cycle to prevent waste.
My final design involved my planet inspiration with planets being foiled onto my bottom layer of my dress, with my top layer being completely see-through from my inspiration of space.
My brand name is Solaris. I think this is strong name and is similar to the French word for Solar. Within this brand name I will use all 7 seven planets for each of my collections. This collection, I am naming Saturn.

Great colours! but i cant see the green writing..
ReplyDeleteAlso i dont think the colours match your design.. and you have the title over you face..

Nice one Katy Rose, could't find ya for a while! Love the name!! Think helens right though and you could do with changing the colour of the writing down the side xx Nice pic xx
ReplyDeleteOh and for comments coz you cant really read those either :) x
ReplyDeleteGreat name and experimenting with text. Great layout and imagery and you have created a real "atmosphere" about, in and for your garment.
ReplyDeleteReally interesting and involved.
One question though - do you really like the film "Ps I Love You?" Hilary Swank looked soooo thin and I think Mr Gerard Butler needed someone who is more calm and not so hysterical...OK, OK I will volunteer myself!
